En vertu de l'autorité conférée par la Constitution de Virginie au gouverneur de l'État de Virginie ( Commonwealth of Virginia), il est officiellement reconnu par la présente :
Semaine de sensibilisation à la lutte contre les moustiques
WHEREAS, mosquito-borne diseases, including malaria, yellow fever, West Nile virus, Zika virus, and other forms of arboviral encephalitis, have historically been a source of human and animal suffering, illness, and death in the United States and worldwide; and
CONSIDÉRANT qu'un nombre excessif de moustiques nous empêche de profiter des activités de plein air, entrave le travail à l'extérieur, diminue la productivité du bétail et réduit la valeur des propriétés ; et
ATTENDU QUE l'Association de contrôle des moustiques de Virginie sert à faciliter la communication et l'éducation entre les professionnels du contrôle des moustiques de Virginie afin d'améliorer l'efficacité des opérations de contrôle des moustiques en Virginie ; et
WHEREAS, the Virginia Department of Health partners with multiple state agencies and government organizations in a public awareness campaign to prevent the spread of the West Nile virus, Zika virus, and other mosquito-borne viruses and encourage the elimination of mosquito breeding habitats in residential areas; and
WHEREAS, it is important for individuals and organizations to work with the Virginia Department of Health and local mosquito control organizations to help decrease the effects of mosquito-borne illnesses; and
WHEREAS, it is important to encourage effective and environmentally safe mosquito control activities, and it is fitting to facilitate communication and education among Virginia’s mosquito control professionals to improve the effectiveness of mosquito control operations in Virginia;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Glenn Youngkin, do hereby recognize June 15-21, 2025, as MOSQUITO CONTROL AWARENESS WEEK in the COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA, and I call this observance to the attention of all of our citizens.
